Colombo: In the Super 4 match of Asia Cup 2023, India defeated Pakistan due to rain.

The high-profile match was forced to a reserve day on Monday (September 11) after play was affected by rain shortly after kick-off on Sunday (September 10).
India defeated Pakistan by 228 runs in the Super 4 stage and secured two points.

It was India’s biggest ODI win by runs against Pakistan.
With this resounding victory, India jumped to the top of the table at the Super 4s stage on the back of a high net run rate, with Sri Lanka and Pakistan also on two points.

India resumed their innings on Monday at 147.2 in 24.1 overs with overnight batsmen Virat Kohli and KL Rahul at the crease.
During the innings, Kohli and Rahul scored their respective centuries and formed an unbeaten partnership of over 200 runs.

Thanks to his fighting innings, India posted a mammoth total of 356 for the loss of two wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Chasing the big target, Pakistan’s batting line-up suffered an early setback as opener Imamul Haq fell to Jasprit Bumrah in the fifth over of the innings.

Hardik Pandya cleaned out Pakistan captain Babar Azam, taking the team’s total to 44 for 2.

After Hardik’s over, the rain returned and stopped the match for another long spell.
When the match resumed after the rain break, it was Kuldeep Yadav’s show.

Kuldeep kept picking up wickets at regular intervals to finish with impressive figures of 5 for 25 from 8 overs.
This was his second five-wicket haul in ODIs.

Pakistan ended their chase at 128 for 8 as fast bowlers Haris Rauf, who did not bowl on Monday, and Naseem Shah did not come in to bat due to a niggle.
