Agartala: The Tripura police conducted a successful operation on September 24 that led to the seizure of banned cough syrups worth Rs 4 lakh. Four persons were arrested in connection with the illegal possession and transportation of these prohibited items.
Additional Superintendent of Police (West) Sovik D shared the details of the operation with reporters. He explained that officers of AD Nagar police station received a tip-off around 6 am, that people were carrying contraband in an auto from Agartala railway station.
Police seized the auto in Budharghat area. During the search, 375 bottles of Eskuff cough syrup, which are banned, were recovered. All of the seized drugs were seized, and four suspects were taken into custody. The estimated market value of the seized drugs is around Rs 4 lakh.
