Guwahati: In a tragic incident from Assam’s Kaziranga National Park, a forest official lost his life and another was injured in a surprise attack by wild buffaloes.
The incident took place during a routine patrol in the forest area near the elephant camp, which shocked the local forest community.
The victim has been identified as Apu Momin, a wildlife conservationist and part of a forest staff facing unexpected aggression from wild buffaloes.
Despite his efforts to defend himself, Momin was constantly attacked.
Additionally, another forester, Sonamani Rabha, was caught in the surprise attack and sustained injuries.
Rabha was immediately shifted to Assam’s Koliabor Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the unusual aggression of the buffaloes, aiming to comprehend the factors contributing to this tragic incident.
