Imam mosque brutally murdered in Makum Kalabari by unidentified

Guwahati: In a gruesome incident that took place in the early hours of Sunday (November 5), an unidentified assailant brutally killed the Imam of Makum Kalabari locality by slashing his throat with a machete.

According to sources, the deceased Tejibur Islam, 55, was originally from Bihar.

A witness recounted the chilling event to the media, explaining how he saw the attacker assaulting the Imam while he was praying, and attempted to intervene. Despite his efforts, the attacker managed to escape.

The witness called for help, but due to the early hour, his cries went unanswered. The Imam was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident has sparked shock and fear in the Makum locality. Makum police have since arrived at the scene and the body has been taken for post-mortem.
