Agartala: A Bangladeshi youth in Agartala has been arrested in Tripura for illegally entering India and smuggling Yaba pills.
The accused has been identified as Arian Hussain.
The arrest was made by the Sepahijala police after a raid in Kulubari area of Sunamura sub-division.
During the raid, the police recovered 900 yaba pills worth lakhs of rupees from Hussain’s possession.
Hussain, who had no valid documents to enter India, is believed to have crossed the border illegally.
He was allegedly planning to smuggle Yaba pills into Bangladesh.
Hussain has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act as well as the Passport Act.
He is currently in police custody.
