IIT-Guwahati witnessed high pre-placement offers
IIT-Guwahati: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati has witnessed high pre-placement offers (PPOs) with over 21 per cent increase in offers during this academic year 2022-23.
The institute has already received 218 PPOs this year while there are 179 offers during 2021-22. PPOs will continue to be created until the start of Phase I campus placements scheduled on December 1, 2022.
Congratulating the students on their success, Prof. TG Sitharam, Director, IIT-Guwahati said, “I am happy to see a significant increase in PPOs this year. It shows the hard work of the students. Rang Lai. IIT-Guwahati invites more companies to participate in hiring the top talent of our country.
A major factor behind this performance in PPOs is the strong internship program and pre-placement communication for its students by IIT-Guwahati’s Center for Career Development. The continuous increase in presentations is a result of the guidance of the teachers and the performance of the students during these sessions.
Abhishek Kumar, Head, Center for Career Development, IIT-Guwahati said, “Big companies have started showing interest in recruiting candidates through PPO mode and this is a growing trend over the last two years. Organized Webinars to help students gain insight into the fields and help them prepare.We also collaborated with technical clubs to provide students with relevant studies/courses for specific profiles increasing in PPOs this year. IIT-Guwahati has seen an increase in the recruitment trend especially for technical roles with more companies offering PPOs through internships. As a result, the institute has received the highest pre-placement offer of Rs 1.20 crore this year as against Rs 56 lakh last year.
