I have 40 MLAs with me: Shinde claims from Guwahati. Shiv Sena rebellion leader Eknath Shinde on Wednesday claimed that he had 40 MLAs with him.
Arriving at Guwahati airport, Shinde spoke to reporters for the first time since his decision to revolt against his party.
Late Monday night, Shinde had left Mumbai with several Sena MLAs and stayed at a hotel in Surat, Gujarat.

However, after talks with BJP leaders, they decided to relocate to Guwahati.

Speaking to reporters outside Guwahati Airport, Shinde said, “I have 40 MLAs here. 10 more MLAs will join me soon. I don’t want to criticize anyone. We want to continue the Sena formed by the late Bala Sahib Thackeray.
Shiv Sena has 56 MLAs in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly who have joined hands with the NCP and Congress since the 2019 Assembly elections and formed a government by breaking their alliance with the BJP.
