Huge cache of weapons recovered

Imphal: The Mora Battalion under IGAR (South) on Monday uncovered a cache of weapons near the Indo-Myanmar border, an official said.

According to an official report, based on intelligence information, Assam Rifles troops discovered a cache of weapons in the forest near Gowajing village near Mora in Tanganopal district. A thorough search turned up a Hackler and coach assault rifle, two Chinese hand grenades, 22 rounds of 7.62 mm caliber, a dual band radio set and other combat stores such as combat uniforms.

He said that the recovered war stores have been handed over to Mora police for further investigation.
