
Hotel manager in Arunachal held with Heroin worth of 5 lakh
Itanagar: A hotel manager from Arunachal Pradesh’s West Siang district was arrested after heroin worth over Rs 5 lakh was seized from his possession, police said on Monday.
West Siang Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Poswal said that acting on a tip-off, a police team arrested the accused on August 25 from a hotel in Newmarket area of โโdistrict headquarters Alu and seized 81.77 grams of the drug.
The SP said that the team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Moge Bole recovered seven cases of soap from the hotel where the accused works as a manager.
He said that the arrested person procured the narcotic substance from Assam and planned to supply it to consumers, adding that two mobile handsets were also seized from there.
A case has been registered against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, the SP said, adding that he has been sent to five-day police custody.
