GUWAHATI: Declaring that neither Tripura, Nagaland nor Meghalaya will have a hung assembly, as predicted in some exit polls, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said that The NDA will form the government with an absolute majority in all three northeastern states.
NEDA convener Sarma said that no ally of NDA (National Democratic Alliance) would go into any alliance with Congress or Trinamool Congress.
“There will be no hung assembly. The NDA will form the government in all three states,” he told reporters here.
When asked about the chief ministerial candidates in the three states, he said that Tripura and Nagaland will remain status quo.
The convener of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) said that Tripura will have a BJP chief minister, while we are in a coalition government in Nagaland.
The Chief Minister will be decided after considering the number of seats won by the BJP for Meghalaya.
Elections were held in Tripura on February 16 and in Nagaland and Meghalaya on February 27. The results will be declared on March 2.
