KOHIMA: The Kohima bench of the Guwahati High Court on Monday granted “full anticipatory bail” to six Naga club leaders with certain conditions.
The court said that the offense charged against the petitioner is not of a serious nature, punishable by life imprisonment or death.
As per the direction of the court, the petitioner also appeared before the Investigating Officer/Police and is cooperating in the investigation by giving statements.
Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the court granted full pre-arrest bail to the petitioner on the condition that the petitioner be available before the Officer-in-Charge, North Police Station, Kohima and/or the Investigating Officer of the case. And when called.
It also directed the petitioners not to tamper with the investigating agency or the prosecution witness in any way. Another condition was that the applicant should not be involved in the crime he is accused of.
Violation of the court order would automatically lead to cancellation of bail, he warned.
The Court informed that the other conditions imposed by this Court in its earlier order would continue to bind the petitioners.
Subsequently, separate petitions filed by six Naga club leaders were disposed of.
