Heavy Rain Over Northeast
Guwahati: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in northeast India in the next two days.
According to an IMD report, Heavy rain over Northeast , the state of Arunachal Pradesh is expected to experience widespread thundershowers with isolated heavy rain on Tuesday, October 11.
Assam, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are also likely to receive widespread rain and thundershowers on Tuesday.
The Meteorological Department has predicted similar conditions for North Eastern states on October 12. While widespread rain and thundershowers are expected over the entire state of Arunachal, scattered rain and thundershowers may occur over all other northeastern states on Wednesday.
The northeast region recorded below average rainfall overall during the four monsoon months from June to September.
Within the Northeast, Assam-Meghalaya sub-division received 1600.7 mm of rain (a decrease of 9 per cent), NMMT states (Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura) received 943.2 mm of rain (a decrease of 28 per cent) and Arunachal Pradesh. 334 mm rainfall was recorded in the state. (15 percent deficit).
