Harjeet Singh pro-Khalistani leader flown to Dibrugarh central jail

Dibrugarh: A team of Punjab Police reached Assam’s Dibrugarh Central Jail along with Khalistani leader Harjeet Singh on Tuesday morning.

The Punjab Police team arrived at Dibrugarh Central Jail on Tuesday at 7.10 am by road from Guwahati by Assam Police.

It is not known how many pro-Khalistani supporters the team has brought. The name of the person brought in today has not yet been officially revealed.
Harjeet Singh, uncle of pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh, surrendered in Punjab last night.

Sources said that another team with some more Khalistani supporters is due to reach Dibrugarh by air on Tuesday.
Earlier, four ‘Waris Punjab De’ members were taken to Dibrugarh in Upper Assam and lodged in Central Jail, Dibrugarh on Sunday.

Four detainees – Daljeet Kalsi, Basant Singh, Gurmeet Singh Bhakhanwala and Bhagwant Singh alias Pradhan Mantri Bajeke – who have been booked under the National Security Act (NSA) are currently lodged in Dibrugarh Central Jail.
On Monday, Assam Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) Prashantha Kumar Bhuyan reached Dibrugarh and held a high-level meeting on security issues.

Daljeet Singh Kalsi alias Sarabjeet Singh Kalsi is a famous Punjabi actor and financier of Amritpal Singh.

He is famous for Sardar Saab and Jagga Jiunde E. Kalsi Waris was the founder of Punjab De and a close associate of actor-turned-activist Deep Sidhu.
Like Sidhu, Kalsi also propagated Khalistan.

After Sidhu’s death, he became associated with Amritpal Singh.

It is believed that Kalsi was not only Amritpal Singh’s financier, but also played an important role in bringing him from Dubai and making him the head of the organization.
Basant Singh Fauji is a former associate of the Waris Punjab De founder Deep Sidhu. Basant was initially attached to Amritpal as a bodyguard.

He later started running a de-addiction center in Amritpal’s native village of Jallu Khera.

Gurmeet Singh Bhakhanwala is a former associate of Deep Sidhu who later joined Amritpal Singh.
He is believed to be among the group of 10 close associates of Amritpal, who have been with him since the day he arrived in India on August 20, 2022.

He was made the successor of Moga in charge of the Punjab.

Bhagwant Singh alias Pradhan Mantri Bajeke is an “outspoken Sikh fundamentalist” who was associated with Deep Sidhu and then Amritpal Singh.
He hails from Moga and was using social media to air his views on various Sikh issues using the term ‘Pradhan Mantri’.

A case was registered against Bhagwant in Moga under the Arms Act in November last year.

He also has other cases registered against him in Moga, including an attempted murder case from 2015. He has been on bail in all the cases.
Harjeet Singh, uncle of Amritpal Singh, was involved in the transport business in the UK and Canada, but joined his nephew after coming to India in August 2022.

Harjeet played the role of manager and was also in charge of AmritPal’s finances.
