
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the Golden Jubilee Year Concluding Ceremony of Sonari College in Charaideo and said 4-year degree is going to be start in Assam.
He also released souvenirs on the occasion of Golden Jubilee celebrations.
In his speech, Sarma urged the students of the state to face the challenges of the new world.
He also said that the combination of knowledge and wisdom leads to complete development of our personality.
He said that the aim of the new education policy is to make students complete human beings by providing them with knowledge as well as wisdom.
Colleges of the state should play an important role in the implementation of the new education policy.
Every university in the state is preparing itself to start the new academic policy from next year.
Four-year undergraduate courses will be started in colleges of the state from next year.
4-year degree in Assam, the government is taking various steps to acquire knowledge through the education system. The state government will provide full support in various aspects including up-gradation of infrastructure, recruitment of faculty to facilitate starting post-graduate classes in Sonari College so that the college becomes a full-fledged post-graduate college.
He hoped that under the new education policy, India would transform its education system into the best education system in the world.
The Chief Minister of Assam said that India is emerging as a new economic power in the world.
He also said that the world is stepping in a new direction in various fields like industry sector, information technology sector and artificial intelligence.
He urged everyone to acquire knowledge in the new industrial environment of the world.
He also emphasized on gaining knowledge about new technology movement.
To take the economic condition of the state in a new direction, the Chief Minister said that the state government is taking various steps.
The student community should prepare itself to be a contributor to the development of the state.
