Itanagar: Mumbai City FC have completed the signing of Gayamar Nikum from I-League side Rajasthan United for an undisclosed transfer fee.
The 18-year-old has joined the Islanders on a four-and-a-half-year deal, which runs until May 2027.
Welcoming Nikum to the team, Mumbai City FC head coach Des Buckingham said that he is very excited to have him (Nikum) in the team and is looking forward to working with the youngster.

In his first statement for the club, Nikum said that joining Mumbai City FC is a proud moment for him and his family.

Hailing from Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh, Nikum was selected to play for his state in the BC Rai Trophy in 2019 at the age of 15.
After leading his team to the semi-finals, Nikum was scouted by Rajasthan United and invited to play at their residential academy.
Nikum quickly became a part of Rajasthan United’s first team and in 2021, at the age of 16, he became one of the youngest players and the first I-League qualifier from Arunachal when he took the field against Madan Maharaj FC. I became a participating player.
Nikum’s breakout campaign in the I-League came in the 2021-22 season, when he showed glimpses of his potential for Rajasthan United in his first I-League campaign.
He featured in 14 out of 18 matches, helping his club qualify for the championship round of the league.
Nikum impressed again in the 2022 Durand Cup when he scored a stoppage-time winner against ATK Mohun Bagan and scored against Indian Navy, either side of a fine goal against the Islanders to lift Rajasthan from Group B. United’s qualification ensured.
