Guwahati businessman murder case Seven arrested so far

Doomdooma: Panbazar police on Wednesday arrested two more accused in connection with the murder of Guwahati businessman Ranjit Bora.

With these fresh arrests, the total number of people arrested in connection with the murder case has risen to seven, police said.
On February 5, the police arrested 5 accused who allegedly committed the crime and sent them to judicial custody.

On the confession of Shah Alam, the mastermind behind the heinous crime, the police arrested Pappu Dihingia and Bipul Das from Guwahati’s Paltanbazar, police said.
Almost two-and-a-half months after a dairy cooperative distributor was shot dead here, the Guwahati police on February 5 said it had cracked the case by nabbing five members of a gang who allegedly committed the crime. .

On November 21, two of them allegedly shot dead Ranjit Bora when he was going to the bank to deposit money. Bora was shot in the neck in Panjabari area of ​​the city.
Two main accused were arrested from Guwahati and Nalbari. During interrogation, he confessed to committing the crime with a 9 mm pistol. Three of his accomplices have also been arrested,” Guwahati Police Commissioner Diganta Bara had said earlier.
He further said that there was no other motive in the killing of Ranjit Bora except to grab money.
The police had earlier announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh for any information about the businessman’s murder.

The deceased  businessman was a distributor of Western Assam Milk Producers Cooperative Union Limited (Purbi Dairy).

According to the police, more people involved in the incident will be arrested soon.
