
Greater Behar Liberation Organisation chief held by Assam,WB cop
Assam and West Bengal Police have arrested Greater Behar Liberation Organization (GCLO) president Nirmal Rai (32) in Cooch Behar in a tip-off operation.
According to the reports, a few days ago the President of Greater Bihar Liberation Organization (GCLO) Nirmal Rai posted a video making objectionable comments.
The Assam and West Bengal police had registered a case against him since he made the objectionable comment.
Eventually Nirmal Rai (32), son of Harisab Chand Rai, a resident of Farabari, New Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, was arrested by the police.
Fakiragram Police has arrested the president of the Organization (GCLO) Nirmal Rai from Alipurduar. A case has been registered against Nirmal Rai, president of accused organization (GCLO) under case no. 40/2023 U/S 120B/156A/153B/505(A)(B)/141 IPC.
Earlier, the Greater Behar Liberation Organization (GCLO) was formed in Assam in February.
Sharing a video message, cadres of the armed group GCLO demanded a separate Kamatapur state failing which the group would take up arms.
Speaking on the lines of the banned militant group Kamtapur Liberation Organization, which has long been demanding a separate Kumtapur state in the tribal belt of Assam and North Bengal, the GCLO freedom-fighters reiterated that That the struggle for secession will continue as long as the tribal areas of Central Bengal demand a separate state. The government is not fulfilling their demand.
Earlier, the banned militant outfit Kamtapur Liberation Organization (KLO) renewed its demand for a separate Kumtapur state.
The organization, through a press release on February 17, said that the demand for a separate Kamtapur state will never end and the struggle will continue until the demand is met.
