
Grandmother and two childern died in Diphu of Food poison
Diphu (Assam): Two children and their grandmother died of suspected food poisoning in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district, a health official said on Thursday.
They said that the three had eaten ‘pithas’ (rice cake) on Tuesday night, after which they complained of stomach pain and started vomiting at their home in Tekelangjung area.
The 70-year-old woman died at home on Wednesday, while the children were taken to a nearby primary healthcare centre, where the seven-year-old boy died on Thursday.
Doctors advised the parents to admit the 11-year-old girl to Diphu Medical College and Hospital but they took her back home, where she later died, the official added.
