Condemning the crackdown by the Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh-led government against the Zo people, the MZP criticized the Manipur government for demanding Inner Line Permits (ILP) from the Zo tribes of Mizoram. .
The MZP said, “While ILP is necessary for non-Mizoram residents, we never demand it or create problems for the Manipuri (Meitei) people (living in Mizoram), with whom we do not discriminate,” MZP said.

Noting that demanding ILPs from people who are entering Manipur from Mizoram state is detrimental to ethnic Zoro people and may lead to rift between the Mizoram and Manipur governments, the statement said. : “So we demand Manipur government to stop demanding ILP from us. Nasli brothers.”
“If the Manipur government continues to take action that is not safe for the ethnic Zo people, we will not be responsible for anything that happens to the Manipuri (Metti) people in Mizoram,” the statement said.

It said that the MZP will continue to work for the protection of ethnic zoo people in Mizoram’s neighboring states and across the world.
The MZP said, “This ethnic zoo will continue to promote unity among people as it seeks to maintain community brotherhood”.
“The Manipur government is trying to evict our brothers and sisters, the people of the Northeast, from their own villages, and we cannot accept this. We demand that the Manipur government immediately Stop actions that could be harmful to ethnic zoo people,” the organization said.
