KOHIMA: Nagaland Governor La Ganesan on Tuesday reiterated the need to resolve the Naga Political Problem (NPI) at the earliest.
Addressing the state assembly for the first time, the new governor said that “my government will remain active and play the role of a sincere and active facilitator to strengthen the ongoing peace process to bring about an early resolution. We We are determined not to stand in the way of an agreement reached through the peace process, which is respectable, acceptable and inclusive.”
The governor said that the inauguration of the new government has a clear vision to bring about positive change, progressive development and inclusive economic development in all directions, keeping in mind the long-standing Naga political issue.
He said that this problem has affected all sectors of the society, and has particularly hindered the development of the economy and the state.
Due to unique challenges and obstacles posed by decades of unresolved political issues, he observed, the state has not been able to fully develop and realize its full potential.
He said that “somehow the smooth march of the state on the path of development and prosperity has been affected”.
