George Bordoloi, a pioneer of the resort industry in Assam, was found dead.
Sonapur (Assam): The owner of a resort in Sonapur was found hanging from a tree in the backyard of his resort on Monday.
The deceased was later identified as George Bordoloi, 70, owner of Georgia’s Retreat Eco Camp Resort and a resident of Sonapur.
Bordoloi’s body was found hanging from a tree in the backyard of his resort in Hatimura , Sonapur area. The cause of death is not yet known, a police official said.
Bordoloi was a trail blazer for the dhaba and resort industry in Sonapur. His first project was a dhaba in Patarkuchi in 1980 for which he became a role model for many young people in the area.
Bordoloi had long maintained good relations with the Congress but later joined the BJP.
His body has been sent to Guwahati Medical College (GMC) for autopsy, the results of which are awaited.
