Imphal: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday arrested the main accused in the Kwakta blast, Mohammad Noor Hussain.
The blast, which took place on June 21, injured three people when an IED planted on an SUV parked on a bridge near Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Leikai and Kwakta along Tiddim Road in Bishnupur District I, Manipur.
The blast took place amid the ongoing ethnic conflict between the Meiteis and Kukis in Manipur.
The NIA investigation has so far revealed Hussain’s involvement in the blast, which occurred on June 21 at a bridge in Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Leikai and Kwakta area along Tiddim Road in Manipur’s Bishnupur district. It happened in a Scorpio car full of explosives parked.
Investigation revealed Hussain’s involvement in the bomb blast, the officer said, adding that further investigation into the case was underway.
