From Monday Nagaland to hold interviews of 1,300 govt jobs

KOHIMA: The Nagaland government on Saturday announced that it will conduct interviews for over 1,300 job aspirants from April 24.

The Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) has said in a notification that the viva-voice portion of the Combined Staff Recruitment Examination 2022 will be held from Monday.
The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) had pressed the state government to cancel the interviews, which were earlier scheduled to begin on April 18.

The NSF called for the interview component of the exam to be reduced from 12.5 per cent of the total marks to 5 per cent, fearing bias.
It had threatened to stage a protest from April 18 and requested the 1,368 shortlisted candidates not to report for the interview.

NSF said in a press release issued during the day that the proposed agitation was dropped after the government gave a written assurance to discuss the matter further after the current cycle of examinations.
“Your demand has been considered very seriously, and it is assured that after the completion of the current round of recruitment by NSSB, the Government will consult NSF in detail to examine the entire issue regarding the ratio of total marks. will demand. The viva-voce component will be kept in the next round of recruitments conducted by NSSB, and a mutually appropriate resolution of the matter will be reached,” said the government’s reply to the NSF.
