
From Dibrugarh Pranjal Changmai taken charge as MD of BCPL
Dibrugarh: Pranjal Changmai has taken charge as the Managing Director of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL), Dibrugarh.
Changmai is a native of Dibrugarh, Assam. He is the son of late Guna Kanta Changmai and Sabitri Changmai.
He did his schooling from Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Dibrugarh and cleared the HSLC examination in the year 1985.
He graduated in Chemical Engineering from Assam Engineering College, Guwahati in the year 1992.
He joined BCPL on 5th July 2011 as Chief Manager. Was actively involved in project completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities of Changmai plants.
Apart from leading the BCPL team in achieving important milestones of commissioning various plants, he was instrumental in collaborating with the licensee, Engineering Project Management Consultants (EPMC).
Under his leadership, as General Manager (Operations), the company achieved full capacity utilization with manufacturing of quality products and thus turned a profit from FY 2018-19.
As General Manager (Operations Incharge) of BCPL, Changmai was also responsible for leading various departments including technical services, environment, sourcing and logistics, business development and project execution. He was actively involved in formulating strategies to improve safety, reliability and sustainable growth of the company before taking charge as Managing Director.
Changmai brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the BCPL.
He started his career in the year 1993 as a Management Trainee at Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Limited, Namrup, Assam. Subsequently, he served as General Manager at Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Hazira, Gujarat from 1996 to 2011. He was in charge of Polyethylene unit and was involved in commissioning, operation and troubleshooting.
As stated by the management of BCPL, his strategic vision and innovative thinking make him a valuable addition to the management of BCPL.
BCPL says that under the guidance of Pranjal Changmai, Team BCPL is confident that BCPL will continue to grow and reach new heights of success.
