Due to Hepatitis A Seven dies in Assam

Tinsukia: The body of a four-and-a-half-year-old child kidnapped three days ago was found lying in an abandoned urinal in Assam’s Dibrugarh town on Friday.

Dibrugarh police have taken Suraj Karmakar into custody after they found him in possession of the child through examination of CCTV footage. The police said that the inquiry is on.
According to Superintendent of Police
According to Superintendent of Police Shwetank Mishra, it is possible that the child was sexually assaulted before her death.
“Though the accused has not yet confessed to the murder, he has admitted taking the child with him before dropping him off in the Phool Bagan area. The investigation is looking into the possibility of molestation and murder, and the punishment. Section 302 of the Indian Child Protection Act and relevant provisions of the Child Sexual Offenses Act have been invoked in the kidnapping case,” Mishra said.
On January 30, the Dibrugarh Police Department received a complaint that a young boy had been abducted from the financial belt, prompting them to register a case of kidnapping.
On Friday morning, the police received information that a dead body was found in an abandoned urinal near the Old High School grounds in PWD Colony. Acting swiftly, the officers sent the body for post-mortem, Mishra said.
In the further investigation of the kidnapping case, the CCTV recording of the accused with the child came to light. This evidence enabled the police to arrest Karmakar and produce him before a local court, which later remanded him to police custody.
