Manipur: Assam Rifles arrested an active freedom-fighter of the banned People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in Manipur’s Churachandpur district on February 28.
The freedom-fighter was arrested in Beheng near BP 41 of Churachandpur district of Manipur.

Khoga Battalion of Assam Rifles arrested an active SS Sergeant of banned outfit PLA on 27 February 2023 at Beheng near BP-41, Churachandpur District, Manipur,” Assam Rifles tweeted.
In another similar operation, the Khonsa Battalion of the Assam Rifles conducted an operation with the Tirap Police and arrested a hard-line rebel of the NSCN (IM) who was caught in the Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The rebel was arrested by the Khonsa Battalion of the Assam Rifles after they received information about the infiltration of a militant in the vicinity of Noglo village in Tirap district.
The arrested cadre of NSCN(IM) has been identified as Nali Homnyu Nyamtey of Noglo village in Tirap district.
It is being told that these militants had infiltrated from Myanmar with the intention of carrying out extortion and other subversive activities in the villages located on the Indo-Myanmar border.
