From Champhai district Foreign cigarettes worth of 97 lakh seized

Aizawl: Assam Rifles troops recovered and seized 65 cases of foreign cigarettes in Mizoram’s Champhai district.

The market value of the seized consignment of foreign cigarettes is estimated at Rs 97.5 lakh.
Officials said on Wednesday that the recovery and seizure was made at Zokhawthar in Mizoram’s Champhai district.

A smuggled consignment of foreign cigarettes has been seized by the Assam Rifles in a joint operation with the Mizoram Customs Department.
Assam Rifles said in a statement that continued smuggling of illegal goods is a major cause of concern for the state of Mizoram.
