AGARTALA: A day before the counting of votes in Tripura, the state police has seized a huge quantity of ganja.
The seized ganja consignment is estimated to be worth Rs 3 crore.
Sources said the consignment of ganja was seized by Tripura Police and CAPF personnel during a routine search of vehicles on the national highway at Gandacherra under Dhalai district.
During a search operation, the police recovered around 2000 kg of cannabis from a container truck and a car at Ganganagar in Dhalai district of Tripura.
Notably, there have been several incidents in the last one year where drugs and contraband worth crores of rupees have been seized by the Tripura police.
Earlier Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha had said that the state government will adopt a zero tolerance policy against drug dealers.
