The Konyak Union (KU) on March 16 handed over foreign secretary Pavel Koch and seven other revolutionsits of the pro-armed militant group Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) authorities.
Union President Tingthok Konyak and Press and Media Secretary Nokzei P. Konyak recounted the events and said that Koch and seven revolutionsits had expressed their desire to leave the organization on March 15. KLO then made first contact. Along with NSCN/GPRN-K (YA) Konyak Region Chairman and Kilonser Khampei Konyak, who then informed the KU Myanmar Unit President about the situation.
The KU President and his Myanmar counterpart took serious note of the situation and along with Rajip Sharma, Assistant Director of the Intelligence Bureau, the MHA team from Guwahati and the KU Phumchung unit proceeded to Lungwa village.
KLO Sergeant Majors Pavel Koch and Kalyan Koch were warmly received in Lungwa village on March 15 by the presidents of three organizations: KU, KU Myanmar Unit, and KU Phomching Unit. Also, officials of the MHA and 27th Assam Rifles attended a meeting early in the morning.
During his conversation with Pavel Koch, the KU president and KU Myanmar unit president expressed happiness over his decision to join the mainstream and move towards peace and development. He claimed that the Konyaks also constantly sought peace and tranquility on earth.
