For talks with TIPRA Motha, Ex- IPS AK Mishra appointed as interlocutor

TRIPURA: Sources claimed that the central government will formally announce the name of retired IPS officer AK Mishra to hold talks with Tipra Motha on the Greater Tipraland demand.
Sources further said that the Center will formally announce the name of AK Mishra next week for discussions with Tripura’s regional party Tipra Motha.
Earlier, Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Manikya Debbarma had said on March 23 that Union Home Minister Amit Shah would announce the name of the interlocutor on March 27 for a ‘constitutional solution’ to Tripura’s problems and issues. Tipra will study and examine Motha’s demand of 14 lakh tribals
Speaking exclusively to Media, Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Manikya Debbarma said Union Minister Amit Shah called him and confirmed that a negotiator would be appointed on March 27 to discuss the Tipra land demand. will take up the matter and find a ‘constitutional solution’ for it.
“Amit Shah has clearly assured me that an interlocutor will be announced by the 27th of this month for our talks regarding the constitutional settlement of our indigenous people of Tripura. I hope that Home Minister Tiprasa Will understand the sentiments and will honor my commitment. Given to me”, said Pradyot Manikya.
