During the mass bike rally, ARSU president Nripen Khanda said that the purpose of the rally was to include the RHAC region in the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution and to demand the formation of Rabha Development Council for the people of Rabha. Live outside the RHAC area.
Khanda also alleged that despite promises made by the current government to meet their demands, there is a lack of goodwill, and the government has not taken any action to address their demands.
“Government should show us action rather than promises for the Rabha community so that our people of Rabha develop inclusively,” added Rabha.
ARSU Secretary Pradeep Rabha announced that their agitation for inclusion of the RHAC region in the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution would continue. He further said that he will go on a four-hour hunger strike in front of the DC offices on May 9, 2023, followed by a two-hour protest in front of the Raj Bhavan on May 16, 2023.
