For right functioning of TTAADC, TIPRA sought Guv's intervention

Agartala: Leaders of the TIPRA party in Tripura have sought the intervention of the state governor to ensure the “welfare of the local people and the functioning of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC)”.

Leaders of the TIPRA Party in Tripura have submitted a memorandum to Tripura Governor Satyadev Narain Arya informing him of the ‘concerned’ situation of the local people of the state.
TIPRA leaders have also requested the intervention of Tripura Governor to ensure the functioning of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

The TIPRA leaders were led by Pradyot Debbarma, who sat outside the Tripura Raj Bhavan in Agartala in protest against the ‘attitude’ of the Governor’s office.
In the memorandum, MDC, MLA and EM of Tipra party alleged that the locals of Tripura are being forced to live like second-class citizens in the state.

The TIPRA Party said in a memorandum that the local people of Tripura deserve to live with dignity, peace and prosperity, but unfortunately the utter negligence of the state administration has led to unrest among the people.
“TTAADC is facing step-mother treatment from the Tripura state government. In the last two years of the current TTAADC government, TTAADC has passed many important bills but in your office for final approval. are pending,” he alleged.
He further claimed that out of the total fund of Rs 619.25 crore allocated to TTAADC, Rs 126.59 crore is yet to be released by the Tripura government for the last financial year i.e. FY 2022-23.

“This has resulted in delay in distribution of staff salaries and other developmental activities,” said TIPRA leaders in Tripura.
The Tipra leaders further alleged: “The village council elections, which were originally scheduled for March 2021, are being delayed even after clear instructions from the Tripura High Court. This has also adversely affected development work in the TTAADC areas. What is affected?
“We, as the constitutional head of our state, and as a person with such wide experience in public life, direct the Government of Tripura and others concerned to immediately consider the matter of the indigenous people (Adivasis) of the state. Approaching you to do justice to our grievances but, even after your instructions, if no action is taken, we will be left with no option but to protest massively.
