For misusing funds MNF accused Zoram people’s movement leader

Aizawl: In a press conference held on Wednesday, MNF General Headquarters Media and Publicity In-charge VL Krosshnehzova accused Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) MLA and Chief Ministerial candidate Lalduhoma of misusing MLA funds.
The allegations center around the use of Rs. 16,42,000, apparently to support the sick during the period 2021-2022.
During the press conference, MNF representatives expressed their surprise at the amount of money allocated to help the sick.
After conducting a thorough investigation, they alleged that Lalduhoma had misused the funds, which were originally earmarked for a noble cause.
The controversy deepened when Lalthanmawia Hauzel, a resident of New Sarchhap, filed an RTI application seeking an explanation as to how the allocated funds were utilized.
In response, Lalduhoma indicated that he had given Rs. 2,50,000 to Zoremsangi, a resident of Serchhip Dinthar and wife of H. Zoramsiama.
The funds were designated as ‘Grants in Aid for Health Purposes’.
However, MNF claims that while official records indicate a much higher amount, the actual amount received by Zoremsangi was merely Rs. 1,000 Moreover, he claims that he did not receive any additional assistance.
H. Zoramsiama, president of the ZPM village council of Serchhip Dinthar area and Zoremsangi’s husband, confirmed the truth of the claim of the MNF representatives.
In light of these allegations, MNF has strongly condemned the alleged misappropriation of funds by Lalduhoma.
They claim that their explanation of using the funds to help the sick is just a pretext.
As a result, MNF is demanding that Laldohoma rectify the situation by providing the actual amount of aid to Zoremsangi.
