
For making video with militants, Kuki police constable suspended
Imphal: A viral video on social media showing a Manipur police Constable of Churachandpur District Police with armed militants sitting along with Village Volunteers surfaced on Wednesday.
Following this, Shivanand Surve, Superintendent of Police, Churachandpur District, Manipur on Thursday ordered the suspension of the Head constable from his service.
Shivanand Surve, in an office memorandum, states that a departmental inquiry under Rule 66 Part-III of the Assam Police Manual (APM) is being contemplated against Head Constable Siamlalpaul of Churachandpur District Police.
The Head Constable was placed under suspension from his service with immediate effect and until further orders.
During the period under which this order remains in force, the headquarters of Head Constable Siamlalpaul shall be Reserve Line, DHQ-Churachandpur and he shall not leave the station without prior permission of the said Police Officer.
His pay and allowances are restricted to the subsistence allowances admissible as per the Rules.
