Assam: Much to the pride of the state of Assam, Apurna Narzary has been appointed as the captain of the Indian women’s football team and will lead the team against Sweden.
Assam’s Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro acknowledged the news on Twitter.
He wrote, “A very proud day for Assam and BTR, our very own Apurna Narzary from Kokrajhar will lead the Indian women’s football team as captain for the upcoming matches in Sweden. Apurna is very much appreciated. Congratulations and may #TeamIndia achieve glory under his leadership.Our prayers and best wishes are with him.
Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu wrote, “This is great news – Apurna Narzary from Kokrajhar is the captain of the Indian women’s football team playing in Sweden.”
