For his work in Hindi film Suman Adhikary gets two Filmfare Awards
Guwahati: Assamese screenplay writer Suman Adhikary won two Filmfare Awards for his work in the Hindi film ‘Badhai Do’ at the 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023.
Adhikary, who hails from Barpeta district in lower Assam, won the Best Story Award along with Akshat Ghildiyal and also bagged the Best Screenplay award for the film Badhai Do.
Adhikariy shared the Best Screenplay award with Ghildiyal and Harshavardhan Kulkarni.
Earlier, Adhikary won the Filmfare Award for Director for his short film Suribhai Sahib.
He also received an IIFA nomination for Best Screenplay for the film Budhai Do. “I am delighted to receive this award. Not only in India but across Asia, this is one of the most prestigious awards in cinema. Among the many excellent works that were nominated, receiving this award is just one. An honour,” said Adhikary.
“I thank everyone in my team for making it happen. I congratulate all the winners, especially the ‘Badhai Do’ team,” he added.
‘Badhai Do’ is a comedy drama film starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles.
The film was directed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni and produced by Jungle Pictures.
