Manipur: Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that after the suspension of the operation, strict action will be taken against the state violents for possessing illegal weapons.
N. Biren Singh expressed the Union Home Minister’s heartfelt condolences to the people of Manipur for the further loss of life and destruction of property.
Addressing the media, CMN Manipur Biren Singh said, “Yesterday we met Home Minister Amit Shah and briefed him about the state… He (Amit Shah) expressed grief over the incident.”
Singh further asserted that Amit Shah asked the state government to normalize the situation in the state irrespective of caste and religion.
Regarding the suspension of operations (SoO) with militant groups including the Kuki National Army and the Zumi Revolutionary Army, Amit Shah assured the people of the state that as per the terms of the agreement, the joint monitoring committee with the army and the state police Jointly inspected several camps and the group still has weapons.
Amit Shah said that such issues will be dealt with strictly and legal action will be taken for possession of illegal arms, CM Biren Singh said.
