Kohima: The Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG) has announced in a joint statement that it has taken a historic decision to merge with the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN).
ENNG leaders, President Tosham Mossang and General Secretary Somai Pongha expressed their confidence in the NSCN/GPRN and its leadership as the main reason behind the decision.
ENNG leaders approached the NSCN for the merger, underlining their support for the framework agreement signed on August 3, 2015. This agreement is based on the recognition of Nagalim’s sovereign rights.
The ENNG leaders expressed their commitment to strengthen Indo-Naga political dialogue based on this framework. They believe that the merger will not only inspire the people of Tirap, Changlong, and Longding (TCL) in Arunachal Pradesh but also encourage their active participation in the Naga national movement.
The ENNG leaders said they are concerned about the political situation in the Pangmi region in TCL, and their aim is to resolve the issue urgently and strengthen it with integration.
Tehy emphasized that any negligence in dealing with the issue of Pangmi region would be a major setback for the Naga nation.
Expressing deep concern over the issue of Naga integration, the ENNG leaders stressed the importance of prioritizing the integration of all Naga areas and peoples, irrespective of the artificial boundaries that currently divide them.
ENNG leaders were instigated by Naga Flag and Yehzabo to join hands with NSCN.
