For blackmailing woman with pvt videos, 23 years old man arrested

Aizawl: A 23-year-old man from Champhai was arrested on Monday in two separate sex cases, police said on Tuesday.

The accused man identified as Mungliankapa, a resident of Sesih village in Champhai district, has been booked under Section 292(2) of the IT Act, 2000 for allegedly blackmailing two women on a social media platform. A case was registered u/s 67 a)/507 IPC.
Police said the accused blackmailed a woman in Farkawn village of Champhai district using a fake Facebook account.

He claimed to have a nude photo of the woman and threatened to post the said photo unless she took another nude photo and sent it to him, police said.
The accused contacted the woman through Facebook Messenger using a fake profile name ‘Nunpuia’ and invited her to have sex with him.

In another case, Mungliankapa continuously blackmailed a woman in Aizawl into having sex with him, if she resisted, he would go viral with a nude picture of the woman.
The accused contacted the woman on phone.
The police acted swiftly and after a thorough investigation and analysis of all the electronic evidence, Mungliankapa was arrested for his involvement in both the cases, the police said.
