For assaulting police home guard, Two youth arrested

Guwahati: Two drunk youths were arrested on Sunday night for allegedly assaulting a police home guard on traffic duty near Panikhaiti in Assam’s Guwahati.
The accused have been identified as Sanjay Lama and Tutu Bora.

They were arrested by the Pankhiti police on Sunday after a violent encounter with a traffic home guard on duty.
The incident took place at Lahapara, Panikhaiti when Ashok Kalita, a home guard stationed at Panikhaiti police station, stopped Lama and Bora for drinking alcohol in public.

Ignoring the warnings, they allegedly assaulted Kalita.
After the incident, the police arrested both Lama and Bora.

Both are residents of Gaonburha Road in Bonda, Guwahati.

Further investigation is underway.
