Foodie fiesta food photography winners of Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Foodie, the largest dedicated food related Facebook community in the Northeast region, has given away the prizes for its ‘Ki KhowaDosti Food Photography Contest’.

Rajashri Gogoi, Munindra Dutta, Ami Dutta, Bhanita Das and Monimala H Baruah were honored at a function held at a hotel in Guwahati.
Renowned actor and director Kenny Basumatry and Executive Chef of Kalita Spectrum Chef Dibas Pradhan presented the awards to the five winners of the competition.

Each of the winners received movie tickets for the Assamese film ‘Ki Kowa, Dosti’, a certificate, a gift and a gift hamper from Purabi Dairy as their award.
Guwahati Foodie organizes this competition to highlight the rich heritage of ethnic cuisine of the state and the entire Northeast region and to inspire people to cook something of their own.
The contest received over 1,000 entries from across the country, of which five were selected as winners.

Talking about the competition, Guwahati Foodie owner Sisir Kumar said, “This competition was our attempt to promote cooking among people in the community as well as encourage people to watch Assamese films.
He added, “I want to wish team ‘Ki Kowa Dosti’ great success.”

The ‘Ki KhowaDosti’ contest by Guwahati Foodie was open to everyone with the condition that the food must be home cooked.
The competition was presented by the team ‘Ki Kowa, Dosti’, the latest Assamese comedy film and Purabi Dairy.

Chef Dibas Pradhan said, “I would like to congratulate all the winners of the competition and the overall participants.

“It was great to see so many unique dishes prepared and served by members of the community,” he said.
Kenny Basumatry, director and writer of ‘Ki Kowa, Dosti’ said, “We are delighted to associate with Guwahati Foodie for the Ki Khowa Dosti competition.

“I would like to express my best wishes to all the contestants and the wonderful dishes left us all in awe.

I want to invite everyone to come and see our new movie on the big screen,” Kenny added.
