Guwahati: In a disturbing incident in Assam’s Tinsukia district, five students of a local high school on Monday sustained injuries after being attacked by a large group of unruly youths.
The incident took place amid ongoing High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination in Assam, three of the injured students are said to be in critical condition.
According to reports, around 30 unruly youths appeared unexpectedly when the students were returning home after their exams.
The mob instigated clashes and physically assaulted the students, resulting in head injuries.
While three students sustained severe wounds and were promptly taken to Tinsukia Civil Hospital for medical attention, the remaining two managed to escape with minor injuries, as per sources.
The injured individuals required treatment and blood transfusions following the shocking and unprovoked attack.
However, the motive behind the assault remains unknown.
It has been disclosed that the affected students are affiliated with St Stephen’s High School, located in Bordoloi Nagar within the Tinsukia district of Assam.
