
Tinsukia: Firing between police and militants in Tinsukia, Assam. An exchange of fire took place between ULFA (I) militants and security forces in Assam’s Tinsukia district, a police officer said on Sunday.
Assam police slaps UAPA
Acting on a tip-off, he said, police raided the Kajupathar in the Bordamsa police station area.
The team, led by Deputy Inspector General (NER) Jaitmul Dole, was attacked by militants. The officer said that the Firing between police and militants is exchange of fire continued for some time.
“However, no casualties were reported from either side. Police have cordoned off the area and launched a search,” he added.
