Fire destroys property worth Rs 1 crore in Assam’s Kokrajhar
Kokrajhar: A huge fire broke out in a bazaar in Kokrajhar town of Assam, burning property worth about Rs 10 million, officials said on Sunday.
A fire broke out in the Kokrajhar Daily Market area near Kokrajhar railway station in the district on Saturday night, he said, adding that no one was killed or injured.
It is said that more than 10 shops were burnt to ashes in the terrible fire, everything inside them was burnt to ashes.
A fire and emergency services official said the cause of the fire was believed to be an electrical short circuit.
“As soon as we were informed, several fire tenders rushed to the spot and put out the fire. No casualties were reported and no one was injured,” he added.
Officials added that property worth Rs. 1 crore was allegedly engulfed in the fire.
