Guwahati: Assam Congress has filed a police complaint against AIUDF chief and Lok Sabha MP Badruddin Ajmal.
The Assam Congress has filed a police complaint against Ajmal for making insulting statements against the party.
In the police complaint, the Assam Congress said that AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal made an unparliamentary statement against APCC president Bhupen Kumar Borah.
“Badaruddin Ajmal, MP and president AIUDF, is constantly trying to tarnish the image of our language, culture etc. and also trying to weaken the social fabric of the Assamese society,” the Assam Congress said in a police complaint.
It is noteworthy that Badruddin Ajmal has been making controversial statements in recent days.
Last year, Ajmal courted controversy by saying that Muslim men get married as soon as they reach the age of 21, while Hindu singles remain celibate until the age of 40.
