Final warning to center, ITLF is ready for 'Separate Administration'

Imphal: The Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF), Manipur’s Kuki-Zo frontline organisation, has said it is ready to form a “separate self-governing administration” in tribal-dominated areas.
After months of ethnic unrest in the northeastern state that left thousands displaced and nearly 180 lives lost, the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) issued the statement.
“It has been more than six months and nothing has been done about our demand for a separate administration from the Manipur government.
So if our voice is not heard within a couple of weeks, we will form our own independent government.

Regardless of whether the Center accepts it or not, we will move forward. As in a state or a union territory, we will set up an autonomous government that will look after all matters in the Kuki-Zo areas, we have to do this because our voice has not been heard,” General Secretary ITLF Muan Tombing said.
On the other hand, the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) today organized a “public rally against atrocities on Kuki-zo tribals” in Churachandpur district.
Tens of thousands of protestors from all corners of the district marched from three locations – Kawnpui Public Ground, Muolvaiphei Public Ground and Peersoman Public Ground to Tuibong Peace Ground near the Deputy Commissioner’s office, chanting slogans against the state government and investigations by investigative agencies. demanded. Atrocities cases against tribals by Meitei community.
The rally was organized against the barbaric practices in which innocent Kuki-Zu civilians are killed by mobs and the cherry-picking of cases by the police and central investigation agencies such as the CBI and NIA against minority tribals. At the expense of the majority Meitei community is appeased.
