
Fight broke between police and youths in Dibrugarh, youths injured
Dibrugarh: A scuffle broke out between the police and some young boys near Charali police station during the Kali Puja immersion procession in Assam’s Dibrugarh on Wednesday.
According to reports, a policeman allegedly assaulted two young boys who were waiting to fill their car with petrol near a petrol pump.
The youths have been identified as Tinku Phukan and Bicky Singh of Jyoti Nagar area of Dibrugarh, Assam.
According to reports, Bicky Singh is the son of retired TSI Arjun Singh of Dibrugarh.
According to sources, Bicky Singh was seriously injured during the scuffle with the policemen.
“We are waiting near a petrol pump to fill our car. Suddenly a policeman came and misbehaved with us.
After that a policeman fell down after someone pushed him. I helped him. Tried to do it but he hit me with the helmet,” Tinku Phukan said.
Bicky Singh also suffered injuries on his face.
Talking to reporters, Bicky Singh said, “Actually, we reached Thana Charali, the police asked us to turn off the sound system. After that we came to the petrol pump to fill our car but a policeman came and misbehaved with us. The policemen warmed me with their helmets and I fainted.
The situation then turned tense and the protesters blocked Thana charali Road for an hour chanting slogans of ‘Go Back’ against the Assam Police.
According to reports, Tinku Phakan was taken to the hospital for treatment.
