
Family of Meghalaya girl found dead in Sikar suspects a foul play
Guwahati: An 18-year-old girl from Nongpoh was found dead in her hostel room at Mody University in Sikar, Rajasthan.
Deceased Walinda was a resident of Binong Nongpoh and was pursuing a fashion designing course at the university.
A senior Rajasthan official, involved in the investigation, “Walinda was already taken to the hospital and the police was informed after that. University officials in Sikar said that Walinda’s friends told her that became concerned that she did not come for breakfast and did not open the door to her room despite constant knocking and beating. When they broke open the door, they found her hanging. According to her friends, she was very much alive. She had a heart and no signs of depression or stress.
“The post-mortem report has also been shared with the family. According to the post-mortem reports, she died of asphyxiation, and the toxicology report is awaited.
However, the deceased’s father said he suspected foul play and rejected the theory that the daughter committed suicide.
A case has been registered by the family of the deceased girl at Nongpoh Police Station and further investigation is underway in Meghalaya as well as Rajasthan.
