Extend express train service to Sabroom, CPI-M MLA demands

Agartala: Tripura CPI-M MLA Dipankar Sen has written to state transport and tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury demanding extension of express train services to Sabroom in the southern district, which shares an international border with Bangladesh.
In his letter, Sen said that as a result of Tripureshwari Express train currently running from Agartala to Anand Vihar in Delhi, the large population of Gomati and South Tripura district is not in a position to get the service/benefit of the main trains.
“Yes, sir, you are well aware of the facts that Sabroom is the terminal point with Bangladesh and where a road link is going to be established to facilitate international communication. That now the people of these two districts generally There is great desire and desire to have direct rail facility with the national capitals New Delhi and Kolkata.
So the people of Gomati and South Tripura district in general demand that Tripureswarl Express and Kancanjungha be extended to Sabroom (as terminal station) and stoppages at Udaipur and Belonia South district of Gomati district.
He further requested the minister to please take up the matter with the appropriate authority so that the extension of the above mentioned two trains to Sabroom can be implemented and implemented for the benefit of the common people of this state.
