EX-MP Mizoram Tlau says BJP and MNF clash will pave ways for ZPM

Aizawl: Former Member of Parliament and Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief spokesperson Ronald Sapa Tlau on Monday suggested that the rivalry between the BJP and the Mizo National Front paved the way for the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM).
In a press interaction, Tlau said that rivalry between BJP and MNF is proof that ZPM is an alliance partner for BJP in Mizoram.
Citing an AIR News report dated October 28, Tlau said the Delhi BJP headquarters had announced the BJP’s desire to form the government in Mizoram.
He also referred to a statement by BJP National President JP Nadda on October 27, 2023. Nadda termed the Mizoram National Front’s (MNF) flagship policy, the SEDP, as corrupt, vowing that the BJP would investigate the “scam”.
While political analysts have predicted that the BJP is poised to win at least six seats in the upcoming elections.
Tlau said the BJP announced the appointment of two capable deputy chief ministers. The mentioned results have been drawn.
First, that the BJP may have agreed to form a coalition government with a regional party other than the MNF, and secondly, that the party in question is content with the post of Deputy Chief Minister.
He said that the only possible coalition partner for the BJP at this juncture is the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), which avoids criticism or controversy with the BJP.
In his statement, Tlau stressed a clear shift in the BJP’s strategy.
What was initially believed to be a hidden agenda has now become open knowledge due to what he termed “carelessness on their part”.
